The 8 Sectors of the Compass Feng Shui School
A building can be divided into 8 sectors, according to the Compass Feng Shui School. The 9th sector is referred to as the Tai Ji area which is formally the centre, often referred to as the heart of the home.
The Tai Ji is an important area, as the Qi found here radiates to every other part of the building, which influences every part of one’s life. This area should ideally be an open space, it should be free from clutter, furniture and anything else blocking the energetic flow.
For example if the Tai Qi was located in an area where there is a cupboard, this would indicate lack of opportunity, feeling stuck in one’s career, relationships and other areas of life. If this area is not used regularly it may affect the whole family by becoming more yin like and lack motivation to do things. The ideal situation would be to move the cupboard away from this location in order to open up the area. However if this is not possible, an effective remedy would be to keep the doors open at all times to allow the flow of air to move freely.
